Philanthropist Spotlight: Ashley Young

Philanthropy is standing in the gap.

It's Black Philanthropy Month and The Grove Action Fund is excited to celebrate the power and impact of Black Philanthropy in the Carolinas. We're here with a spotlight showing how philanthropy impacts our communities.

We know that our communities are not always resourced in a way that fully meets our needs. Philanthropy from everyday people like you and Ashley Young keeps us all healthy and supported.

Throughout the month, we will highlight Black women who give of themselves to support movement work in North and South Carolina. We hope that you'll hear their stories and become a philanthropist too.

How did your philanthropy story get started?

Additionally, I've dedicated numerous hours toward integrating mental health support within our faith-based communities to create a climate of safety and free of stigma.

What does philanthropy mean to you?

Philanthropy is about using one's time, resources, and skill to make a positive difference in this world. It is about giving back to our communities and standing in the gap to empower others and create lasting change. Lastly is a way to express our gratitude for our own blessings.

How do you support your community?
I've created initiatives that include wellness workshops, support groups, and partnerships with employers and organizations to provide accessible resources to promote holistic well-being. I also foster open conversations about mental health and faith communities to create an inclusive and supportive environment that meets the emotional and spiritual needs of

How can others get involved and give?

Getting involved can look different for everyone: 1) You can donate to the various organizations that we partner with to provide accessible care to our community: Vital Connections of The Midlands, Girl Get Up Society, and The Hive. 2)Host wellness events within your organizations. Requests can be emailed to info@everydaywellness-sc.com
